Market Conditions

On average, we now make a live guaranteed purchase offer every 15 seconds around the United States via  our product Trade in Marketplace.  It has settled in  as  the future of wholesale valuation. Trade in Market Place is now in 34 metro markets.  Dealers are leveraging  a live instant offer, generated from the trading floor of the world's most active market.  This is a tool that is tranparent, fair and real...not an opinion from a entity outside the industry, but a buyer with a check.  

      

Spotters are a  smash so we added two more for next week.  Dealers from around the country are using our product.  Our simulcast results are the proof.  Every dealer that used the system was simply thrilled.   If you were one of the 439 dealers logged in on simulcast I thank each one of you.   This week I sold 97% of first time run units and 92% overall.    

Now the market. We sold a total of 527 units this week in twenty two states and eight different countries. We are on track to sell close to 2500 units for the  month of August. Our lanes were packed bell to bell.  Simulcast is crucial as more dealers are using the internet to source inventory.  Trust is our key to success.   Dealers are finding out that we have the merchandise and we sell every unit.  Our goal is to convert on every opportunity and be sure that when a buyer is participating in our lanes, you will be a buyer, not a frustrated bidder.  More first time buyers are able to understand that in my lanes they are able to buy with "no fear".  They simply can't get hammered because we own our units and will stand up, not run and hide or "if and but", when there is an issue. 

Toyotas are really ripping.  In general, fresh fat units are out of control. Late model Lexi have to be the right one, but if they are, they are rip roaring good.  If they are off a click, they are mud. Any loaded truck is hot.  Mid range heavies are very good, but real heavies are soft.  All good Ford, GM and Chrysler product is very strong.  Junk is fair, but not super. If it looks like a car they are good, but if it looks like slop they are worth the same as industrial waste.  The export market is making a semi-comeback.  Big activity from the Canadians and West Africans.   There is a tonne of unsellable inventory in Russia so they are still here, but they are very selective.   As always we don't  make the market,  wejust play in it.   The Chinese are buying, but onesees twosees, not deep.

 

The Porsche market has chilled and all sports cars have taken a major twist lower... if you want to sell.  Good BMWs that don't look like they came from the lease lane are on fire.  Same with MB. The rebates have had an obvious impact on the desirability of MBs and 2010  trucks.  Who needs an  '10 when new ones are free?   Loaded older trucks are on fire, but the older the better . 

People tell us that cars are scarce, but once again this week I expect to have over 600 fresh trades at Manheim.  We are dedicated to make your trip to Manheim an experience that will make you come back... every week.  

 

 Dealers, remember, when you buy a car from me, and you find a reason you don't like it...give it back...that day.  Forget arbitration, if you don't like it, you are not allowed to have it. The first six months of 2010 were  record breakers.  We have sold over 13,300 units.   These ain't lease returns falling off a truck.  They are coming from the showroom, trade-ins, not picked over seconds or thirds.  So slip on your buying shoes and get your butt to Manheim.  Come find out why they call me the "Maestro of Manheim".  We need to do a repeat the first half of 2010 and then yearpeat.    Friday is another 550 rounds in the heavy weight division.   The first cat that hears me say "No Sale" gets $500 in cash.  Make no mistake, we ain't playing softball with a helmet.
